More Than Serving Tea

What Would You Do If You Saw Him Yelling?

What would you do if you saw a young man verbally abusing a female companion in a public space, calling her names that should make you cringe in a voice loud enough to make heads turn? Would you stare? Would you step in? Would you call security? Would you look down and say a silent prayer?

Is there a difference between what you would hope you would do and what you probably would do?

Wow, I feel my heart racing a bit just thinking of the scenario. You handled this wisely and bravely. Honestly, I’m not sure what I would have done, but I know that I’ll be more likely to step up to bat next time.
    Appreciate this story!

Have you submitted yourself as a potential BlogHer conference panelist/speaker? 🙂

My heart was racing as well…all the way back to my car and throughout my phone conversation with my husband on the drive home. But it was the kind of heart-racing that made me stop, pray, stop, pray and finally act. I am still learning to listen to that voice inside my head. Blessings to you!

Sadly, of course we wouldn’t say anything. But my internal outrage would force me to leave the situation. I have actually been in this situation and I walked away. Also, with a parent berating a child loudly in public. What would you do, Kathy?
